This bushcare activity looks after an important hilltop site where many butterflies congregate. By managing the invasive weeds and looking after buttefly host-plant species, you can help to protect the future for some of Brisbane’s beautiful butterflies.

Qld’s sub-tropical rainforests are wondrous, but quite variable in their structure and mix of vegetation. UQ’s John Dwyer and his team have studied over 300 trees species in forests from Byron Bay to Gladstone, and John will share what they’ve learned about what drives this incredible variation.

Forest Family Sundays: Wildcall Wildlife Encounter
Join us for a wild adventure these Easter school holidays!
On Sunday 12 April from 11am–1pm, Forest Family Sundays at The Hut, Chapel Hill will host a special Wildcall Wildlife Encounter, giving kids and families the chance to meet some incredible Australian native animals up close.
This hands-on wildlife experience is perfect for kids, parents, grandparents and visiting family during the Easter break.
Animals likely to visit on the day include:
🐊 Crocodile
🐢 Turtle
🦎 Lizard
🐍 Snake
🌿 Possum
🦇 Bat (observation only – no patting)
Children will have the opportunity to pat most animals during the show, and at the end of the session they may even hold the snake in small groups or pairs (depending on crowd size).
