What We Do
-

Education
From year-round bird-walks, summer-time night-walks to children’s activities and monthly presentations by topic experts, we offer opportunities for observing and learning about our natural world suitable for all ages.
-

Conservation
For over thirty years THECA volunteers have undertaken revegetation and weeding around The Hut and at the Summit, in collaboration with Council’s Habitat Brisbane program, along with other conservation activities such as cane-toad tadpole trapping in Cubberla Creek.
-

Community
We host regular community morning teas, hold monthly meetings open to all, celebrate our local artists with THECA’s annual Art Show, make The Hut available to other groups, and welcome new community partnerships.
-

Research
Supporting research into our local environment has been a key THECA activity from the start. From monitoring local ecosystems to our University Scholarship program, we aim to better understand our environment.
